RESCUE DIVER SPECIALTY COURSE

Learn how to prevent accidents and how to respond to in water emergencies.

Join us for one lecture and two days of open water diving to focus on accident

prevention through education. Topics will include accident analysis, diver stress,

environmental factors, proper planning, equipment and situational awareness.

Open water activities will include pre-dive checks, signs of stress, diver assists,

locating a missing diver and performing a complete rescue. The course is required

for all Divemasters and Instructor candidates and is highly recommended for dive

team members or any diver who wants to be the best diver he/she can be. The

course cost is $175.00 and includes the NAUI Rescue Diver Educational system,

certification fees, one night lecture and two days of open water diving. The dates

are June 1 at 6:30pm for the class session and June 5 & 6 for the open water

dives. You must sign up by May 25, 2010.

SHERKSTON QUARRY DIVE

ADVANCED DIVER COURSE

The Advanced Diver course is designed for all certified divers who wish to increase their understanding and enjoyment of SCUBA diving and have fun diving in the WNY area. Our Advanced Diver program gives you flexibility in choosing the dates for your dives. Just complete each of the four diving activities listed below and you will become an Advanced Diver! NIAGARA RIVER DRIFT DIVE: Dive the “Mighty Niagara”! Experience the thrill of the gentle current and the excitement of searching for rare artifacts. Come join in the fun as you will learn to plan and execute a Niagara River Drift Dive from shore. We will have a very detailed briefing before each dive and a debriefing after the dive is complete. This is one of the most unique dives in the world. The dive begins at 10:00am (be on site at 9:00am) The cost is $30.00. Open to all certified divers. The dates are: June 6, July 11, Aug 8, Aug 28, Sept 19.

NAVIGATION: One of the most important underwater skills is navigating. Learning to find your way around underwater is important for dive planning and safety. You will learn advanced compass navigation skills along with learning how to use the natural bottom contours. The dive begins at 4:00pm (be at the quarry by 3:00pm). This will ensure your confidence by knowing your location on every dive. The cost is $30.00. Open to all certified divers. The dates are: June 19, July 17, Aug 21, Sept 25.

NIGHT DIVE: Learn how the underwater world changes at night. See things differently at night and also see how marine life changes when the sun goes down. You will learn how to plan your entry and exit points properly so you will have a fun and safe night diving experience. The dive begins at dusk. The cost is $30.00. Open to all certified divers. The dates are: June 19, July 17, Aug 21, Sept 25.

TOBERMORY WEEKEND: Tobermory , the friendly harbor village located at the tip of Bruce Peninsula, is headquarters to two National Marine Parks, Bruce Peninsula National Park and Fathom Five National Marine Park. Tobermory is also hailed as Ontario’s Diving Capitol, home too many world class shipwreck dive sites.

This world famous Canadian Underwater park will be the site for our July 23 – 25, 2010 diving weekend. The weekend diving package includes meals for the weekend starting with Friday evening dinner, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast Sunday morning. Also included will be a full day of boat diving on Saturday (4 dives) and a half day of boat diving on Sunday (2 dives), lodging Friday and Saturday at the “Coach House Inn” including room taxes, services charges and gratuities. The “Coach House Inn” has a swimming pool, volleyball court and a bonfire pit for our enjoyment when we are not diving. During this weekend you will fulfill your Advanced Diver requirements for Boat diving, Wreck diving, and Deep diving.

NITROX COURSE

Join the ranks of the modern day sport divers! Learn to use a different

diver friendly breathing mix…NITROX. On Tuesday, June 29, 2010, Dip ‘n

Dive will be offering a NITROX course sponsored by NAUI, the National

Association of Underwater Instructors, which is open to all divers. This course

will provide the participants the information and certification necessary to

participate in Nitrox diving. Nitrox is now available at most tropical destinations

as well as here at Dip ‘n Dive for local dives, to help make your diving safer.

The course will be held from 6:00 – 10:00pm at Dip ‘n Dive. The cost of the

course is $130.00 per person and includes textbook, materials and registration

1000 ISLANDS WEEKEND IN BROCKVILLE, ONTARIO, 2010

The St. Lawrence River is a diver’s mecca? Come dive some of the best fresh water shipwrecks in the 1000 Islands! Our weekend trip will include two nights lodging, meals starting with Friday evening dinner, breakfast, lunch & dinner on Saturday and Sunday breakfast, room taxes and gratuities plus a diving package of a three tank dive on Saturday and a three tank dive on Sunday diving shipwrecks in the Brockville area.

MASTER DIVER COURSE

The Master Diver course will begin on July 6, 2010. This course is designed for those Advanced Divers who want to expand their diving knowledge to the highest non-leadership level possible. Dip ‘n Dive’s Master Diver Course always has been the most exciting and informative course in WNY. Featuring innovative ideas and “hands on diving experience”, this course is for those who desire the best in instructional programs. Our Master Diver Course is the only course that includes a “Recompression Chamber” sport dive done in Tobermory. The Responsible Diver Techniques must be completed first then the remaining modules can be completed in any order. Each module consists of a seminar and an open water activity. To participate you must be at least an Advanced Diver or equivalent.

OSPREY CHARTERS

Join us aboard the Osprey Charters “Southwind” on July 18, 2010 at 2:30pm for a day of deeper diving on some of the most historic shipwrecks in Lake Erie. Open to Advanced Divers and above, the cost is $100.00 for a two tank dive. Dip ‘n Dive will also be chartering the “Southwind” on August 22 at 2:30pm as part of the Master Diver course. FREE!! SUMMER 2010 FRIDAY AFTERNOON DIVES!

Open to all Advanced divers and above, start off the weekend with a late afternoon drift dive! One of our staff will organize the dive! The dives will be every couple of weeks on Friday and the dive is FREE! Divers will meet at the Cook Point Overlook near Whitehaven Rd. and West River Road. Course fees are $229.00 and include certification fees, instructional fees, (for pool sessions and open water training), pool fees, use of textbook, tanks, regulators with gauges and buoyancy compensators for all pool sessions. For pool sessions, each student will only need to provide mask, snorkel, fins and weight belt. Student discount packages are available for all snorkeling equipment.

Our “Tropical Traveler Course” is also available to those who wish to do their classroom & pool training here in WNY and their open water dives on a vacation. The “Tropical Traveler” course fees are $199.00.

We also offer the “Private” certification program. It only requires the regular course fees plus the purchase of a home study kit for $69.95. Once you complete the academics, one of our instructors will arrange pool sessions with you.

DIP ‘N DIVE REPAIR REMINDER

Don’t forget to have your regulator and buoyancy compensator serviced and your tank checked to be sure your equipment will function at its best during the upcoming summer diving season. Most manufacturers require that you have your regulator overhauled once a year to maintain your warranty. Dip ‘n Dive is an authorized repair facility for Oceanic, Sherwood, Aqualung, Seaquest, Dacor and Mares. Also, Dip ‘n Dive is a Department of Transportation authorized tank testing facility. We can personally handle all your tank testing and inspection needs at our store. That includes visual inspections and hydrostatic testing.
