The first thing you have to decide on is the number of lenses. Multi-lens masks, especially dual-lens models, usually have a lower internal volume and are of a smaller size than single-lens models. Bringing the lenses closer to the diver’s face makes clearing and equalizing the mask easier. In case you need vision correction, many popular dual lens masks can be equipped with corrective lenses. Single-lens masks, on the other hand, are generally somewhat larger in volume but offer a wider uninterrupted field of view.
The next step is to select a skirt color. Clear and black silicone skirts are the most common options. The translucent clear skirt creates a more open feeling by allowing the light to penetrate through. Black silicone eliminates any light penetration from the sides and helps to prevent distractions. If you’d like something brighter, many mask models come in a whole plethora of colors.
Finally, you need to pay attention to the lens angle, mask frame as well as the strap and buckles. These too are important factors to consider when making a final decision.
