Wetsuits for Men FAQs

What Should Men Wear Under a Wetsuit?

Men typically wear swim briefs, board shorts, or a rash guard under a wetsuit for comfort and ease of movement. In colder waters, adding a thin thermal layer or neoprene shorts can provide extra insulation. Avoid bulky or loose clothing underneath, as it can create discomfort and restrict movement.

How to Choose the Right Size for a Men's Wetsuit?

To choose the right size, measure your chest, waist, height, and weight, and compare these to the wetsuit brand’s sizing chart (sizes vary by brand). A wetsuit should fit snugly like a second skin, with no loose areas, but not so tight that it restricts movement or breathing. Height and chest measurements are typically the most critical for a comfortable, well-fitting wetsuit.

What to Do Before Wearing a Wetsuit for the First Time?

Check for Fit: Try it on at home to make sure it fits comfortably without excessive pulling or gaps.

Rinse it: Rinse the wetsuit in fresh, cool water to remove any residues from manufacturing.

Turn it Inside Out to Dry: If you rinse it after trying it on, turn it inside out to fully dry before using it in the water.Taking these steps will help ensure your wetsuit is ready and comfortable for your first dive or surf session.

Lubricate, if needed: Apply a small amount of wetsuit-safe lubricant around tight areas (like wrists and ankles) to help with easier entry and avoid damage.
