The first Aqua Lung device itself was built in the 1940s by Jacques-Yves Cousteau and Emile Gagnan. This invention has created the standard for diving regulators as we know them today. Aqua Lung International has now grown to hold 12 divisions throughout the world and is in itself a division of Air Liquide. Having more than 200 employees in the U.S. and over 500 employees worldwide, the company manufactures not only scuba equipment but also a whole range of products for use on land and in the air.
