Suunto, a company that has been manufacturing high quality precision instruments for over 75 years, is now introducing a revolutionary dive computer - the EON Steel. This technologically advanced device combines rugged design, fully customizable interface and ease of use. In the best traditions of Suunto, the tool has superior construction. Brushed stainless steel bezel looks very stylish and a composite case with over 50% glass fiber adds durability. The glass on the screen of the computer is scratch resistant and very tough in general. You can be sure that the device will serve you well even after years of intensive usage.
Putting the emphasis on diver control and usability, Suunto presents the possibility to customize EON Steel in accordance with your skill level and preferences. By default the main screen shows the time, current depth, air mixture, dive time and temperature. Pressing the center button will take you through the different modes of the computer. You can easily create your own custom interface, cycling between such features as: multi-gas diving (up to 10 gases) with air/nitrox/trimix support, tilt-compensated 3D compass, altitude adjustment, audible alarms, decompression data, bottom timer mode, depth alarms, air integration with the included Tank POD Transmitter, etc. You can also change the display style, choosing between the graphic and classical options. Another handy feature is that you can select the preferred units of measurement and go for either metric or imperial format. What’s more, it is possible to set up desired units for each individual parameter.
The EON Steel can be used for all types of diving and is equally effective in warm shelow waters and cold dark depths. The device is rated to 150 meters (492 ft) depth and has the operational temperature range of +32° F to +104° F (0° C to +40° C). A cutting-edge BrightSee™ color screen delivers maximized clarity and high color contrasts. Such innovative display technology minimizes reflections, while improving the view angle. As for the battery, it can last for as long as 20-30 hours of dive, when fully charged, and can be recharged via a simple USB cable.
The Tank POD that comes with the computer is a wireless tank pressure transmitter that can take multiple tank pressure readings. The pairing procedure is extremely intuitive, all you have to do is pressurize the system and hold the Suunto EON Steel within 1.8 meters from the Tank POD.In a few seconds you’ll see a popup on the screen, showing the serial number, battery status and the tank pressure.
Make the choice in favor of one of the most advanced dive computers available today - Suunto EON Steel. It is not only easy and fun to use, but also, with its ascent meter, calculated pressure stops, safety warnings and its no fly display, the EON Steel will keep you as safe as possible.
